Home for Sale in Minnesota (Twin Cities) Supply Outlook
Houses for sale in the Twin Cities metro are are at a 7.1 month supply in July. This figure represents the amount of months it would take to sell through all the existing houses on the market assuming no further homes were listed. A balanced market tends to be in the 5 month range. Based on that we are still in a buyers market. The months supply is slightly better that last year (7.3 months for 2009) but significantly better than 2008 which was at 10.6 months.
Within the next 60 days we should start to see the true market here in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. That time period would represent accurate market demand vs. the false demand we saw leading up to the end of the tax credit.
